Handling Robot

My company relied upon the use of caustic and hazardous chemicals in certain phases of production. After an accident in which one of my employees suffered from serious injuries after inhaling fumes from one of these dangerous chemicals I wanted to find an alternate method to use in my manufacturing plant. Unfortunately, there was no suitable substitute that I could use in place of the chemicals. They were necessary in order to maintain the integrity of my products that I manufactured and sold.

Luckily, my employee recovered but the entire occurrence had left my workers badly shaken and it had raised many safety concerns. I needed to do something to promote safety and to show my employees that I sincerely cared about their health and welfare. My insurance premium also increased significantly after the incident. I sat down with my insurance provider and we brainstormed over ways that I could guarantee the safety of my employees. I wanted to find a solution that would protect my workers from having to be around these hazardous chemicals and completely eliminate and potential exposure that might occur.

My insurance provider suggested that I look into purchasing a materials handling robot. He represented a number of clients that had turned to robotics for assistance when it came to performing dangerous jobs. Instead of risking the health of humans, robots could perform a number of duties in conditions that were unsuitable for humans. These robots could tolerate a number of conditions that humans could not endure. They also would not need to take all of the safety precautions and wear all of the safety equipment that was required of my employees.

By purchasing a materials handling robot I could reduce the chance of one of my employees being injured by having to be exposed to dangerous fumes. Not only could I promote safety within my company but I could also avoid having to pay high insurance premiums.

I contacted a robotics manufacturer and had them recommend a handling robot model that could perform the functions that I required. They were happy to assist me and answer all of my questions. A few short weeks later I had my very own robot performing all of the work that involved the hazardous chemicals. Production resumed at a much faster pace, but most importantly, I was relieved to know that my employees would be safe while they were under my roof.
